Dallas Dealmaker Chooses Global Platform

Dealmakers among the Lawdragon 500 are on the move.

Just a few weeks after Rick Climan’s blockbuster move from Cooley Godward to Dewey LeBoeuf, one of Dallas’ top dealmakers, Wilson Chu, has moved from Haynes & Boone to K&L Gates.

Chu has long done international deals and decided K&L Gates, with 33 offices worldwide, would better support his practice. “K&L Gates in the past two years has assembled a global platform, and it’s the allure of coming over and helping them build the franchise,” Chu said.

Peter Kalis, K&L Gates chairman, said “With Wilson’s arrival, our corporate transactional practice takes another step forward.”

Among Chu’s clients are AmerisourceBergen, Dell, Oak Pacific Interactive (a leading Beijing-based online social networking provider), Youku.com (a leading video sharing site in China) and Intactix International (the world’s leading provider of retail space management software).
